Telemedicine with Dr. Velling

Genesis Medicine Offers Telemedicine Video Visits

Meet With The Genesis Medicine Team On-Line
TeleMedicine refers to the practice of caring for patients remotely when the provider and patient are not physically present with each other. Mobile tablets, phones and desktop devices enable your Genesis Medicine providers to consult patients by using real-time HIPAA compliant and secure video-conferencing tools.  It can be used as an alternative to in-person care delivery within the clinic for the purposes of diagnosis, treatment, and care management.
We are pleased to offer live video Telemedicine appointments for new and established patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule a visit?

Contact our offiice at patientinfo@genesismedwa.com or (253) 874-8774 and let us know you would like to see your provider via video.
New Patients: please see our New Patient Information for more questions, and to begin your new patient packet for your initial consultation.

What do I need to get ready for the visit?

Before a telemedicine visit, you will need: 1) A private, quiet place to discuss your symptoms, 2) Make sure your device is ready for your visit, HERE.

Will a visit via telemedicine be as effective as an in-person one?

Be assured that we are scheduling remote visits for initial and follow-up visits with your health and safety in mind, however our office remains open for procedures and in-office visits as necessary. Remote visits have proven to be equally as effective as in-person visits for many pain related health conditions. In fact, telehealth improves outcomes by making it easier for people to comply with follow-up recommendations and selfcare.
Telehealth is not for emergencies: If you are experiencing severe symptoms or have a serious medical concern, it is important to go to the emergency room or call 911.

How much will it cost?

These appointments are typically covered by your regular health insurance. That means that you’ll be charged the same co-pay/co-insurance as an in-person visit.

Do I need to sign up for the patient portal?

No, to talk with your provider during a telemedicine visit you do not need to register for the patient portal. You will check in using the link sent to you and your provider will start the call when they are ready.

What hardware and software do I need?

You will need an iPhone, iPad, Android mobile device, or other mobile tablet with a cellular or internet connection. You can also use a personal computer if it has a camera and a microphone.
