BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Velling completed his medical schooling and Anesthesia residency at the University of Southern California, and then served in the Air Force for four years. He practiced general anesthesia at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas until he decided to return for sub-specialty training in the field of pain medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Velling is board certified in Anesthesia and Interventional Pain Management.
In 2004, Dr. David Velling opened The Pain Center of Western Washington. His mission was to provide interventional medical care that helped restore function and vitality to the lives of people in pain. He has stayed vigilantly aware of emerging technologies over the years and has integrated new modalities to expand treatment options as it was safe and beneficial to do so.
The field of Regenerative Medicine has been evolving for years and many intelligent and innovative pioneers have paved the way for those who are more cautiously intrigued. In 2018 the FDA stepped in to provide a framework of standardization, practice guidelines, definition of terms, and quality controls designed to safeguard patient outcomes. With these parameters in place, Dr. Velling confidently moved forward with obtaining training and education in the field of Regenerative Medicine. This allowed him to expand not only treatment options for his current patient population, but to expand his service to other aspects of Regenerative medicine, such as the aesthetic components.

“I enjoy getting to know people, we all have unique stories. With patients, I find myself as an advocate, guide and sometimes a therapist for people for their blips and bumps in life. I want to do my due diligence to fully see after the care of those who I have the opportunity to help. No matter the challenge or question, I want to figure it out for you.”

Google Review
“Dr. Velling is a caring doctor who truly strives to improve his patients quality of life and relieve their pain issues. I have been suffering with chronic back pain for 9 years. I have seen numerous specialists but after a few months they tell me they have run out of treatment options and refer me on to someone else. Dr. Velling is the only pain specialist that hasn’t given up on me and continues to help treat my pain related issues. I am so grateful that I was referred to him.”

“Dr. Velling took the time to thoroughly explain the results of my MRI to my husband and I, and to come up with the best course of action for my treatment. We live south of Olympia and make the drive to Federal Way because Dr. Velling and his team are the best.”
