Taking Medications

2 Opportunities To Give Feedback

June 11, 2020

Have you ever taken prescription or over-the-counter pain relievers? Are you the family member, caretaker or friend of someone who has depended on pain medication? Have you ever wanted to share your perspective on the role of pain medications in your/others’ lives?

Two organizations have opened up public surveys to hear the voices of those who interact with pain and pain medication(s) in their daily lives.

The Center for Disease Control has opened the “Management of Acute and Chronic Pain: Request for Comment”

From the CDC:  “We have provided an important opportunity to make your voices heard about the value of medications for chronic pain. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has opened a docket to accept input, this is a great opportunity to provide your input.”

American Chronic Pain Association

The American Chronic Pain Association has opened the “Survey: Using Over the Counter Medications”

From the ACPA:  “At one time or another, we all may depend on over the counter (OTC) medications to deal with our aches and pains. We would like to gain a better understanding of what people with chronic pain consider before buying an OTC, who you talk with, and how you use these pain relievers.”
